I see you have an imod in your signature, how does it compare?  iphone4/w/EQu and imod?

I'm currently emailing back and forth w/Victor @elephantcandy about the skipping during playback, and possibly getting "replaygain" added to the EQu's settings.

It might help if some others helped by emailing then via the built-in email contact feature in the EQu app itself. The more people that contact them, the more they'll realize the power they hold w/the iPod touch/iPhone community - and the faster they'll bring this thing up to snuff.

Work as a team people, get together on this - 1 person makes a difference, a whole community makes a movement!!!

I just Dl'd EQu and like it so far, though it's not perfect.  I'd like to have more advanced controls--like the ability to pause, change tracks, etc. when double-clicking the home button.  Also in-line control support would be great, too.  I'll shoot them an email about it tonight.  Hopefully these features are being considered for future updates.

Hi,

Here at elephantcandy we are coding day and night so I'm sorry that I didn't reply to all of you sooner but it is a crazy time....

There is no need to mass email me if you experience flaws in our app EQu! One email with detailed information is enough :-)

We try to answer all mails and we take  them serious. So if you have discovered any flaw please send me a mail with detailed information. What device, what iOS, what version, what kind of files etc etc. The more information you provide us with the better we can try to reproduce your case.

Unfortunately the iOS is still very buggy and we have to find ways to work around it, Apple is aware of it and we hope that they will fix things soon. We will try to come up with an update asap!

thanks,

Victor

Sounds good, I look forward to the expansion of EQu.

I had a great commute today making different pre-sets, I think I`ve found  a winner.

We need a EQu appreciation thread where we can wax lyrical over these new apps and post our pre-set pics!

Thanks Victor, glad to see your involved here in the head-fi community and helping us assist you in making EQu the best it can be. I personally think Apple should get you guys onboard, since this app should actually be something built into the iPod touch/iPhone OS.

Great work, I'm happy you guys are shooting for "EXELLENT"!!!

I just purchased this yesterday, and I like the app very much.

I know this may be difficult to implement, but a built in sine-sweep 'test mode' would be great for fine tuning.    I have a couple on my iphone 4 but without being able to go forwards or backwards in a file it is difficult to tune.

I still long for the way Rio Karma and RockBox handle playlists.

That is:

I start listening to a song/album

I can in real time add another song/album/artist whatever, with the option to do it at the end of the current playlist or immediately after the song I am listening to in that very moment.

With iPod you can do something similar only by using the On the Go functionality but you have to remember to use it and it's counterintuitive. It also doesn't allow the "add after the song I'm listening to".

Is this something doable with the iOS SDK or you are limited to the iPod functionality for music database interactions?

Bump. For me this is crucial. I'd buy the app straight away if it could be implemented.

I have a Cowon i9, and a Touch 4G with the EQu and Equalizer apps.....I can get excellent sound out of either one. In fact, I don't think I could clearly rate one better than the other.

really?!

Yes. The many sound enhancers on the Cowon players are cool to tinker with....some work well,  but some of them can give a very artificial-type sound. You can get great results with the EQ and careful use of the other features, but it takes some experimentation to find what works for you(some people might like some of the settings I thought sounded artificial).

With EQu/Equalizer on the Touch and iPhone, you're not adding in other effects, just dealing with EQ. That said, they reportedly work best on the newest hardware....for example, you don't get to control all 7 bands on the 2G Touch with Equalizer, it's only 3 or 4, I believe.
