The one headphones you use most in your collect? - Page 2

I feel so lowly in this thread, owning only a couple of "decent" headphones I have used my Grado SR60s the most.

On another note, I have given away my Koss Porta Pros which I had before discovering this place to a good friend of mine. He is now ecstatic on the prospects of his future in headphones.

PortaPros. Classic phones, and I use them every day walking back and forth to class with a Sansa Clip+. It's nice, as I'm not in danger of being one of the five people (that I know of so far) that have been almost run over by the psychos who drive around this place. Second place goes to my SR80's, which I use while I'm at my desk.

That may change, as I have a set of meelec m6's sitting in my mailbox at the moment and some senn HD558's coming as well.

Your a cruel person, letting a person listen to quality audio! His wallet will forever be ruined and he could have lived a blissfully unaware life with his apple earbuds. Lol I joke. thats actually pretty nice of you.

HD650s for sure...I love their clarity and detail coming from some ath-a900s

I will stick strictly to headphones for my response. I have owned AD700, AD900, HD600, and currently own Superlux HD668B, QNN Open headphone phone, and my newest aquisition the venerable Denon AH D7000. I don't think it will take much guessing to figure out whoch is getting all of my listening time to :-).

I will say though in all seriousness the D7000 are the nicest sounding headphone or IEM I have ever heard, eclipsing everything else by quite a margin. They are the first headphone I have owned where I like every aspect about them. The detail is superb as is the sound stage, the bass sits just where I want it and does not overwhelm the mdrange, the treble is sparkly and detailed without being sibilant or fatiguing, they just do it all for me right now. My only challenge is being satisfied with my portable solutions now. But when at home I am simply in heaven.

Also I have also heard the LCD-2, Senn HD800, BD T1 and actually prefer the D7000 over those headphones. I know the others are better technically but I just like the musical qualities of the D7000 more.

My RS-1 has been my go-to phone for three years or so. Lately I've been spending a little more time with the D7000 but the RS-1 still gets the most play.

When I'm not on leave: Sennheiser IE8, because of the commute.

When I am on leave: Beyerdynamic DT 880, because I'll be camped in front of my Xbox.

Though to be fair, it wouldn't matter what headphones I have--I'd still be using one for the commute and one at home.

When I am sitting by my wife (her watching TV), I use the Denon D7000.  She doesn't like the music I listen to so the HD800 is totally out of the question when she is in the room.

When I have alone time (mostly weekend mornings), I use the HD800.  I like the BiG sound from it.

Now that I have a DT990, it may take the place of the D7000.  The sound leak doesn't bother my wife and I really like how it sounds.  It's like having both the HD800 & D7000 in one headphone.  The sound stage is not as big as the HD800, but it's bigger than the D7000.  I am liking it.

Ultrasone Pro 650 when I'm sitting at home and other people are around, otherwise I use the K240.  Both produce incredible sound and are comfortable beyond recognition.  Considering I picked up both pairs for $99 each, I'm very happy with them.

When I'm on the go, ATH-ES5 and K450 get about equal play time.

Beyerdynamic DT440 and DT250-80 depending on if I need isolation or not.

AH-D7000 on my head as I type this. I wear them most of all. Every evening as I sit and type or whatever at the computer.

Lossless or uncompressed HD .wav files fed 24/96 through the Benchmark DAC1-Pre. Does a wonderful job. Great synergy.

Second would be the DBA-02 (or UM2) at the gym at least 4x / week. Fed straight from the iPod Classic (all ALAC files).

Then... the M50's for moving about the house or yard, also from the iPod.

Poor DT880's get almost no head time.  frown.gif

SR225i, since it's the only headphones I have now, but that might change when I get my Ultrasone PRO 900

The headphones I use most often are my Grado SR80i's. Great sound, especially when amped. The new cushions and the bendable headband are very comfortable for even the longest listening sessions.

However, I have recently rediscovered IEMs and that's pretty much all I use right now. My ER6i's live in my pocket and go with me everywhere, along with my 80 gig iPod classic (8,067 songs in 320kbps mp3 format). When it comes to portability, full size cans just don't cut it etysmile.gif

I also use my Sennheiser HD-280 pros when I'm playing my bass guitar after my younger sister goes to sleep. Excellent monitoring cans.

Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 vi ... I use them with my Motorola Droid whenever I am out of the house, and it's actually very hard to see me WITHOUT those headphones stuck in my ear wherever I go
