Denon AH-D7000 Amp Question

Thread Starter

I will purchase a pair in the coming week, but have still yet to buy a DAC and amp combination. I finalized my DAC and amp too the FiiO E7 and E9 because of its price (below $200) and portability. However, I was wondering whether the FiiO would be able to fully drive my D7000s.

Thanks

I've used the D7000 with a few different amp/headphones out. IMO, my Bellari HA540 with upgraded Mullard 12AX7 tube. The stock tube doesn't sound good with the D7000. The sound is snappy, smooth and well balanced among bass, mids, & highs. This amp has plenty of power to drive the D7000 to make you go deaf. I paid $219 new and $30 for the Mullard tube. It's a great match with the D7000.

I'm bumping this old post because it is very relevant to me also. I just bought the Denon AH-D7000 and it will be used on my Fiio E7+E9 combo just like kiwibuddy and am wondering if people have any experience with these headphones, the Fiio and other amps. Any other multi amp comparison experience would also be interesting for me.

I was looking at the Burson HA-160DS, anyone think that makes a good match? I won't be able to afford it for a while so if you see this post and it's old please still feel free to chime in.

Thanks all :)
