Have you checked out Sirenia songs with their new lead vocalist?  Simply awesome...

Couldn't get into the song overall, the vocalist, her native language isn't English is it?
I'm listening to other songs of that album, I'll get back to you on those, they seem interesting, I think "The Path to Decay" wasn't my cup of tea...

Celesty - Empty Room

This was too, how do you say it, the music/chord progressions and the vocalist all have been done before in songs similar to this style. It was too "corny"...
I don't mean that in a bad way, I think it's because their native language is Finnish and their 'genre' is something along the fantasy/adventure style. It
definitely had everything I mentioned (orchestra/rock/etc.), but, I just can't get into the lyrics and some of the instrumentation. I am listening to the full
songs you're providing me with though! I'm trying to like it!

lacuna coil is awesome, but shallow life sucks compared to the stuff before it. shallow life sounded to mainstream to me, like they are trying to sound like
linkin park or something. the gathering is another good female fronted band.

I know what you mean, I'll have to checkout their other albums, thanks! so much to do, so little time... 'The Gathering' seem intersting, I'll check more of their
stuff out =) Just remember though, this 'genre' just doesn't agree with me... Or I don't agree with it... I don't know what it is about these bands...

I think we discussed this already in this thread, but there are a ton of great symphonic goth metal bands with great female vocalists. This is one of my
favorite generes. Epica, Nightwish, Sirenia, Tristania, Within Temptaion, Leaves Eyes, Delain, After Forever, Theater of Tragedy, Elis, Operatika, Lacuna Coil...
to name a few.

Going by Youtube:
Epica - Cry For The Moon - not a fan of "Opera", the lyrics were too plain/corny, I respect them as musicians, just can't get into this 'genre'...
Epica - Solitary ground - she has beautiful vocals, just don't like the song...
Epica - The Last Crusade - Opera again...
Nightwish - Cadence of Her Last Breath = just can't get into it...
Nightwish " Carpenter " - interesting music, but can't get into the chorus and such...
Nightwish-dead boy's poem = interesting, just can't get into it again..
Sirenia - The Path to Decay/The Other Side/My Mind's Eye
Tristania - Equilibrium/ The Shining Path/Evenfall
Within Temptaion - What Have you Done/The Howling/Angels
Leaves Eyes - Elegy/My Destiny/Into Your Light
Delain Stay Forever/Invidia/See Me in Shadow- great singer, just not my cup of tea...
After Forever - Energize Me/Emphasis/Monolith of Doubt
Theatre of Tragedy - Siren/Venus/Machine
Elis - Come to Me/Black Angel/Der Letze Tag
Operatika - Tears of the Sun/The Calling/Gladiator
Lacuna Coil - hmm, can't get into them now...     Need to take a break from this 'genre' or something...
*I respect all of these bands, I just cannot get into their music... Thanks though!

Thanks all, I'll try to find more songs I like to give you even better ideas of what I'm interested in... Sorry for not liking so much of your guys' input, I just can be "selective" at times... I really do appreciate all the help

Lacuna Coil's cover of "Enjoy the Silence" is pretty epic. even if you're not a fan of this genre.

Within temptation songs are awesome...Sharon have a sweet voice.

hell yea she does. the new acoustic live cd sounds great, as does Black Symphony.

Anneke van Giersbergen from The Gathering is great as well. different singing style but she has a great voice. i might actually like her more than sharon. Anneke also recently appeared on Devin Townsend's latest cd. she sounds great on that as well.

Anneke and Sharon both have also worked with Ayreon and have done some great stuff there too.

Was pretty good (though I didn't enjoy it as much), and you're right about people being interested in it even if they don't listen to that type of music, it is catchy.

Within Temptation (Black Symphony) - "Frozen"- Great voice live indeed. I'll have to look into this band again =)

Check this out

Exogenesis Symphony Pt 1: Overture by Muse- sweet =)

Muse - Exogenesis Symphony Part 2 (Cross Pollination) (Album Version)= not a fan of piano intro (not to say I don't like piano solos/intros), liked the 1st better... Not a fan of the pianist in this song.

Muse - Exogenesis Symphony Part 3 (Redeption) (Album Version) = Wow, neat! =)

Muse - United States of Eurasia= Reminds me of Queen sometimes (his vocals, hehe). Didn't like this one as much, but thanks though.

Thanks everyone so far! Hope I can find more songs to give you more examples (if only I could just add about 6 more hours to the work day...)

the music may be good, but the whole album sounds terrible. it's mixed or mastered really hot and sounds like it's clipping all over the place. it's a shame.

Isn't it possible only the leaked version sounds bad, since it hasn't been released?

I was talking about "The 13th Floor". That's the last one that was released.

I like  "The 13th Floor" album which you are referring to.  I did not hear any noticeable clipping.

Same here - I think the sound is quite good, actually. I am referring to the CD version, of course, not any MP3/AAC or otherwise compressed version.

Hehe, was "interesting" to say the least, too many instruments at once, but pretty neat. Thanks though =)
