Looking to get my first pair of decent headphones.

So I'm looking to get my first pair of good headphones as I've only used ipod buds, and 20 dollar headsets.

They will only be plugged into a computer/laptop and maybe my ipod.

I only listen to rock (chevelle, rise against, thrice) but I like the thumping of the bass so that would be a plus.

My budget is $100 and under and I don't know where to begin. After looking around and reading this forum the HD555 and AD700 are highly recommended but I think I want closed headphones because I plan on taking them to college and I prefer to blast my music so music leakage is a no.

I've actually been looking at the Siberia v2 for the style, and decent sound quality but they're probably looked down upon here as there are probably much better headphones with better quality.

So to sum it up, looking for great quality and highly comfortable(don't want me ears hurting after about an hour of wearing them)

I also game but music>gaming for these.

EDIT : Recently discovered the M50s and found them around 100 ... any thoughts/input on these for me?

Hey, and thanks.. I was just looking for some suggestions to some headphones I may have been missing out on through my research. There's so many and all the names got confusing with all the models so I was just hoping to hear some suggestions.

But looking at these m50s made me think. Am I going overkill with a set like those for using it with only a computer with an average soundcard? I don't want to upgrade my soundcard or get an amp as I'm going to be selling it for a laptop for college in the future.

Apparently the M50s are pretty much out of stock everywhere that offer it for my price range. (around $100)

So I'm looking for some suggestions on a pair of headphones. When asking some people about them(m50s), they told me they might have been overkill for someone like me. I've never used headphones other than anything under 20 bucks so I don't exactly know the difference.

But, I'm still looking. Anything under 100 should do. Any suggestions?

(Everything is still the same, closed and comfortable are the biggest selling points for me)
