Hey guys, I'm a little confused as to how rolling opamps work. I recently got myself an Audinst to get myself inducted to the world of good sound and while looking at the internal blueprint of the audinst, i see a list of Opamps with different functions. It seems the LME49860 is important if you are using the headphone output on the audinst, however, if I choose to connect a separate amp for my headphone out, say the matrix m-stage, will rolling the 49860 matter?
And if not, what opamps on the audinst matter in this case? I'm planning to connect the m-stage via rca line out which seems to bring the OPA2134 into the picture, would changing that OPamp to something better affect the overall sound quality of the audinst+mstage combo?
Also, what is recommended when connecting the audinst to the m-stage? RCA or SPDIF out? Will there be a audible difference switching from one output to another? Or do the DAC completely bypass those opamps when connecting to a separate amplifier?
I know these are alot of fairly amateurish questions to be asking, but I'm new to the dac/amp scene and I hope the headfi community can lead me in the right direction. Thanks for your time.
