Turnaround time for a custom cable...

Just wondering what the timetable is for a cable from Whiplash.  I ordered a mini-to-mini (with special needs, lol) on 11/21 via PM here (as opposed to through the Whiplash site), and I haven't heard back from Craig yet as to when it'll ship.  Granted, with the holiday and pre-Chrismas frenzy I imagine he's very busy, but I'd just like to know how long it usually takes to get a cable out the door.  Thanks!

It may take a long time...:-)

Seriously, with the Thanksgiving Sale going on I would imagine he's drowning in emails and PMs and will process the orders thru his revamped website first.

Reading the several notes he posted in the past few weeks redirecting customers to his new website, if I were you, I would place an order thru the website still and if you can't find the configuration you need there, place a note with the order with the requested changes.  You could mention the PM you sent in reference to the order also so it's not duplicated.

Right now every PM and email he gets will result in less time making, preparing and shipping orders even with his employee, Mike doing his share of the work.

I'm in the same boat, BTW, with several custom IC orders, but I will wait it out until it slows down a bit for them, because custom stuff will always take longer to make.  Not sure if this helps you any, just offering a perspective I've learned this past year on Head-Fi in dealing with not just Whiplash but most of these other family businesses/forum sponsors.  Sometime it takes a bit of extra time during busy seasons but you will get your stuff eventually.

Yeah, I figure the wait will be some time, not too worried about it.  Hell, I waited something like over two months for my APS HD650 cable.  I also don't want to bother Craig with an email/.another PM, since it's just one more to deal with, lol.  I'm still waiting on my Arrow anyway, and that wait should be a lot longer.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that as well. I ordered IEM replacement cable and LOD on 21/11 via email. How long did you guys have to wait?

I really hope I can get the cables before Christmas holiday as I want them to accompany me on my holiday trip :)

Cheers!

Still waiting myself, Benz, but we ordered on the same day, and you're in OZ (I'm in California).  If I get an update or notification that my cable is on its way, I'll be sure to let you know.  You shouldn't be too far behind me, if I get mine first.

Just got shipping notification and tracking number, much quicker than I imagined. Thanks Craig!

Hey Guys, Warp08 is right we just got a ton of orders during the Black Friday sale, so everything is a little bit behind. I have been working overtime, and working even more when I get home to get everything caught up for you guys! Everything should smooth out soon with all of the changes/additions that are happening with Whiplash. But as always, thank you for your patience and support!

Mine is on the way...there was a bit of confusion with my order, and because I placed through Head-Fi, I think Mike wasn't sure what the PayPal order was for...anyway, I emailed them, we sorted out the details, and the cable was shipped out same day.  Turnaround time is actually very fast, but I'd suggest placing orders through the Whiplash site as Warp suggested, and not the way I did it, lol...

Anyway, thanks again guys...can't wait to use the cable...I just wish my Arrow order would get completed and on the way too...

I got the notification a week ago, but the status remains the same as last week. Usually EMS packages get scanned each time they hit PO and take around a week to arrive in Australia. Here's the link to tracking page, and my paypal transaction ID is 9GM62011F6637332C.

I'd be very grateful if you can give me some information. Thanks!

Cheers,

Ben

Ben, I wouldn't sweat it too much...the USPS is notoriously crappy when it comes to tracking packages correctly, and it's only gotten worse in the past few years.  I frequently receive an item before the tracking updates even show it's left the first post office.  Usually the first update I get after the "departure scan" is that it's "out for delivery", lol.  For your package, my guess is it takes 5-7 days to leave the country, plus overseas transit to OZ.  Also, the "Electronic Shipping Info Received" is just when Whiplash entered your shipping info into the system...it might not have shipped that day, but was ready to ship and got picked up the next day.

USPS is the crappiest carrier ever and UPS is not far behind.  They both lost two separate packages of mine on the same day.  The USPS "Delivery Confirmation" is a joke and absolutely worthless.  And if you add all the insurance, registered mail and other uplift services--btw, why are we paying extra fees just to make sure they are doing their $&%^$* job?--it's not much behind of what FedEx charges.

And even if you insure the package, it can take them as much as 6 months for you to get reimbursed?  No, thanks.
