Here's a very naive question that has got me in a quandry. I am using a 303's line out to a headphone amp.
I am assuming that today's DACs, either standalone or combined with a head amp, produce better SQ than most portable sources' (Walkmen, Ipods, etc.) DACs. Maybe a wrong assumption. In order for the source signal to be processed by a head amp's DAC rather than the source's DAC, is it necessary to use a source's digital output (optical, USB,e.g.) rather than the LOD? The 303 has an optical out. Thanks for any input.
