well looks like wikileaks is under attack and can't access atm..

i know political debate is prohibited here on head-fi but it would be nice to get an idea of how political we are as a group..

so without going in to detail or political debate, did anyone access wikileaks and read some of the files?

I spent about an hour last night reading some of the cables and they were fascinating...

I occasionally check the wikileaks site but most of the content is beyond me. You still didn't answer my question.

Oh I thought you were joking when you asked.

cable diaries are the leaked diplomatic cables sent by embassy officials in relation to foreign policy issues.

most of them are sensitive, unedited, honest views of the policy issues, government officials, leaders, events etc. that are used to  help formulate informed foreign policy.

wikileaks just started posting them on their site, and will continue to release them in batches..

some of the established newspapers (Guardian, IHT, NYT etc) were already given access to them and atm are major headlines in most newspapers..

I think he's alluding to the 'cables' sent between various diplomats and officials.

Mostly it's just gossip, but some are genuinely interesting.

Wikileaks.org does seem to be having some troubles, but both NY Times and The Guardian writes good articles.

isj, too slow.

As much as I would enjoy discussing this, I am afraid there is no way to discuss Wikileaks and diplomatic cables without getting into politics.

We all know that we don't talk politics at Head-Fi, right?

So I am going to close this thread. I will leave it up as a reminder not to discuss politcs here.
