My Brand New Vintage 1977 Pioneer Components

I was at my folks for thanksgiving this weekend. They surprised me by giving me their old (1977) Pioneer SA-7500 II integrated amp and TX-6500 II tuner. My brother got the turntable and cassette deck from the same original rack system.

I've always loved these old components and am thrilled that they've been passed down to me. They sound absolutely wonderful and are in top-notch shape. All the knobs and toggles are rock solid, even the tuner knob has no play whatsoever, it's very precise. The faceplates are spotless.

I can't wait to open them up for a serious cleaning, although they're already in great shape. The only real repair I need to do is clean the back contacts and sand down the black top/side covers and repaint them, since both the tuner and amp have a little corrosion on the top. Oh, and I need to replace the indicator bulbs, they're all burned out.

These aren't my pics, but maybe I'll post my own once I've done the above cleaning/repairs.

Happy holidays!
