Hi I'm new to  DIY stuff but i want to mod my grado sr-80 to not being connected to cable, meaning having a jack in each head phone like shown in here: http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/ubb/showpage.php?fnum=3&tid=4981.

My problem is that i have no clue what jack am i suppose to get and what wire, what I'm trying to ask is whats the differnce between all the differnt kinds of jacks and sound wires and for recommendation for which are better, and for just any other advise about things i should know before going in to this project.....

Thanks.....

p.s.

1.sorry for the bad English.

2.if there is another thread consernnig this topic please don't kill me i just couldn't find it.

The wiring in the example looks a little more complicated than it needs to be.

Did you want separate wires from left/right or single-sided entry?

A simple 3.5mm TRS plug will work for entry, there are many available.

Don't worry much about different wires yet, for recommendation, look at Mogami 2893.

I want them both...According to what i understood from the tutorial this schema suppose to work when you put a mono connector in each of them and when you out a stereo connector in one of them. This is good because on the one hand its easier when you have only one entry hole and on the other hand you have specific amps which require 2 mono entry's..
