Replacement for Aging M-Audio Studiophile BX8s

Hey everyone! Been a long time lurker here on the Head-Fi site, figured I'd finally join up to get some advice on what to replace my aging BX8's with. I'd keep them, as I love the sound they produce, but I'm pretty sure the tweeter on the right one is out. As M-Audio no longer sells the BX8's I'm SOL as far as getting replacement parts. So I was wondering, what do you guys recommend to replace them? Currently I'm just running balanced TRS cables to a Line 6 Toneport. I don't have an external soundcard (or a good internal one... I'm working on it...), and I'm looking to spend around $200-350 U.S..

Thanks in advance!

I was going to suggest looking at craigslist and ebay for a single BX8.  Just looked on ebay and what do ya know?  There's a single bx8 for sale, located in Georgia.  I'm assuming you're in the US.

Me too! Old BX8's. Found out today tweeter gone in one.

Found this: http://www.fullcompass.com/product/341515.html

They have the tweet for $18.

Good luck!

Also, just because a company doesn't sell something anymore doesn't mean it doesn't do repairs or have parts - usually you'll have at least 5 years, sometimes 10, before all the old stock parts are sold out for consumer products.

I had a Nikon F3 repaired by Nikon USA in 2008, some 5 years after they were officially discontinued and 28 years after its initial introduction.  I wouldn't expect M-Audio to have the same standards, but for such a recently discontinued product it's worth inquiring with them.
