It seems that Leslie Nielsen has passed on: http://www.cjob.com/News/Local/Story.aspx?id=1318402

A great actor, but devestating as a deadpan comedian. If you're one of the younger members who doesn't remember Mr. Nielsen, go watch "Airplane" or "The Naked Gun" and appreciate the guy.

He was a Canadian comic icon! I absolutely loved the Naked Gun Series (TV shows and movies) and Airplane...he will be missed! Oh, and please don't call me Shirley.

Another great comedian has passed and the world is less funnier for it.  I can't remember how many times I've watched Airplane, great movie.

Frank: It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

Jane: Goodyear?

Frank: No, the worst.

Oh man, 3 "Airplane" alums in one year....Peter Graves, Barbara Billingsley, and now Leslie Nielsen.

Funny man. I enjoyed some of his earlier serious performances such as the commander in Forbidden Planet.

Yes, this was old sci-fi movie where he was attractive young men playing "serious" role. He was versatile actor, not comic only. Though his comedian roles were great and those movies, like "Airplane", are true classic.

His acting and line delivery shirley caused tears of laughter many times here .
