JUST bought ATH-CK100 - Page 2

I absolutely love my CK10s, but never got the guts to pony up the cash for the 100s

In my experience, the love for the 10's doesn't necessarily equate to love of the 100's.  I still have the 10's.

BTW, to the OP, the CK100's seems to me, from my recollection of all the threads, to be a "love 'em" or "hate 'em" IEM.  They appear to be very well made and damn near indestructable.  Hopefully, you'll really enjoy them for many years to come.

Cheers.

You might wanna try different tips. The stock ones never worked for me with my CK10, and since CK100 have the same nozzle size, i guess there are the same tips in package

ATH-CK10 Tips Comparison

Personally before remolding I liked monster triple-flanges the best, you could find their clones on ebay.

One thing to definitely keep in mind about the CK 100...

I noticed they have the epic clarity, forward mids blah blah blah, but in the end source/EQ makes HUGE differences for these phones, hence "you'll love it, or hate it". With the right set up, I honestly feel that these can be unbeatable.

I stuck it into my samsung p3 and played some flac files. Sounded brilliant. Absolute joy. Heard details I've never heard in the Westones, Shures, Triple fis... etc. touched up the bass a little on the EQ and it was even better.

Then I tried it on my iphone 4. Horrid. I couldn't stand it. Without anything to really push apple product's sound, things like jazz and classical played through alright, but it wasn't the phones I remembered on the P3.

I also read someone here mentioning that they want the ck10 for the smaller housing... ck100 is most definitely the smallest triple driver iem I've ever seen (I think they are the smallest...) but they aren't designed in a way where you can lay on your side etc etc with em. With my Westone 3, laying sleeping, etc = no problem...

I'd be interested in hearing what other folks might say about these... They are still... "in the air" for me.

^ A while back I used a Sansa Fuze for a comparison between the e-Q7, IE8, CK100, SE530, FX500 and X10 and just couldn't stand the CK100's mids. Soon after that I got a Cowon i9 and was utterly surprised that the CK100 sounded much better with the i9 than with the Fuze. I tried them with some other sources after that and it was always pretty much hit or miss. To this day the CK100 remain the most source-touchy IEMs I've ever heard.
