Yep - Blue Jeans seems affordable and the quality of build and design is there - the low capacitance - awesome!

Yes - you had mentioned them to be previously if you remember. They are still in my mind to buy - but  I did read somewhere they also have a warmth in the mids...

I took your idea of too much warmth to heart. So I decided on a Yulong D100 as a desktop DAC for the XP-7s...apparently the D100 is super neutral. Now I am just wanting to be sure that the cables are also going to be detailed but clear, neutral - good build...

It is a balancing act to find the right amount of warmth to be added in each of our rigs.  Some of us like more warmth than others, some not at all.

yep - I like warmth too but not at the expense of the overall balance. So to enjoy the X-P7 I thought it would be better to buy a higher quality DAC - the Yulong is great value for only $500US and completely neutral. This frees up my choices for the portable rig. I won't try to get separates for portable use - I will just get a high quality dac/amp combo...and I am leaning towards the DACPORT now...

 

Still cable wise - I was very impressed by the suggestions of Blue Jeans - and when I read their information - I was pleasantly surprised by the informative approach towards sonic interference...

so the Quadlink were my initial thought after you suggested them - but I may now give Blue Jeans a try. Not so much about the money - as much as about the extremely low capacitance....
