What is a "Jung Diamond buffer"?

Fine. What is a "buffer"? Having zero electrical engineering experience, I couldn't even understand the Wiki article.

Thank you very much.

"buffer" in the sense you're asking about is the output stage of an amp.

The output stage is where the electrical current to do the actual work of pushing

your headphone diaphragms is modulated. Usually buffers are designed with

larger "power" transistors as the active elements. There are buffer circuits

integrated onto a single chip available though that are used in lower cost amps.

"Jung Diamond buffer"  is one design of output buffer originated by a man named Dr. Jung.

"diamond" refers the symmetrical layout of the transistors in that particular design.
