new iem upgrade from sennheiser ie 8

I have enjoyed my IE 8 for more than a year now but was unfortunate to lose it recently.

And now I have been looking around for my next purchase. I thought about the Shure SE425 and SE535 but I would like to hear suggestions from the head-fi community about other alternatives. Think its also time to move away from the sennheiser sound signature

Having come from the IE 8, my criteria for would be it must have a remote, detachable cable, better sound/comparable to the IE 8 and good built (my ie8 even survived a washing machine and worked just like normal.

If anyone in the UK knows of any good online deals, please list them here. Thanks

Are you looking for Dynamic drivers only?

There are no Dynamic driver earphones with detachable cable except the Shure SE535

Also new UM3X model has that feauture

Are you sure it wasn't damage?

I don't think any phone can handle that.

BTW I don't think se535 will be nignt and day different to the IE8

If you want something completely different I would suggest W3 or Tf10pro

I can be honest with you it sounded perfectly the same even after it was drowned in water.

Anyway does the tf10 or westone 3 have a remote? Im after one with handset capabilities

What about Sennheiser IE8i? It's the same but with remote control. It's a good bet, as you seem to like the IE8.

Detachable cable limits your options... perhaps Sleek Audio SA7?

I know of a great online deal in the UK of an audio technica 'phone, if you don't like it, I'll buy them from you 100% guarantee.  PM me for details.

The IE8i is exactly the same as the IE 8 except for the handset. Before I lost my IE 8, I had placed an order for the IE 8i cable for about £40 and was looking forward to receiving it in the next few weeks. Feel sorry for myself now having lost the IE 8.

I had a look at them. Would not spend anything less than £100 on headphones. No point downgrading myself in terms of sound quality

wanting a remote hugely limits your options, try the tf10vi

Just because some people bought UE Triplefi10 for $50 the other day doesn't mean they sound like a $50 phone, they usually cost $300 I think?

The ones I mentioned usually cost around £150.

I'm not interested in earbuds.

hi Mark. glad to hear from you again. What is the sound like on the tf10vi in comparison to the IE 8?
