Considering a HD428 rewire

Hi, and welcome to my first of what I'm hoping will be many posts/threads.

 

I have a set of Sennheiser HD428's and I'm considering rewiring them. Unfortunately, considering my location, I can't go out and buy any cables (not good ones anyway). So I searched around the house, knowing I could find something, and came across this:

Would it be worth using this to rewire my cans?

That might be okay, I say find some 22-20AWG wire, I recomend bigger for Cans, that is made with some quality copper, A.K.A. not that stuff you buy in spools, and shorter is better.
