DAC for hd600

hi my current setup is PC > styleaudio carat hd1v > little dot mk3 > hd600.  I am intending to upgrade my dac  with budget around $200-$300. My current aim is the maverick audio d1 so i can use toslink to the dac instead of the full of noise, jitter usb port. Is that a good choice ? within the budget range is there any dac better ? I mostly listen to japan pop, vocaloid, instrument so i need good mid, high and separation.

Most likely your optical out isn't any better than the usb port, in fact there are some well made usb dacs that take care of jitter issues.

HRT line of dacs do async usb and play 24/96 files.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the II+ dac as it's just surprises me with it's abilities every time I put a better amp in my chain.

the II+ alone is already $300 plus shipping it should be about $350, abit steep for me

Lower than your price range but a modified Aune MKII has always served me well
