funny you posted a link to that. i have been doing all sorts of research on that player. I think I want it. (Hence the earlier post about trying to encode to atrac on my PC .. which I am now doing to a few tracks).

$75 ain't bad but I wonder what the headphone out sounds like. At any rate it's more than I want to spend, then again, i always found those minidisc players really cool.

so yep, I got a minidisc player. MZ-N505. Should be fun to play with. Certainly a lot cheaper then HD mp3 players. Battery life seems to be killer according to stats too. Less bulky than a PCDP/MP3CDP.

yay!

Are you saying it will be continued in the years to come? That would be the most amazing thing. A D-CJ01 with firmware upgrade, a nice remote and ffwd/rwd capabilities. Please say yes, would make my day!! (And break it, because I just ordered a iMP-350, but heck, it won't last forever )

I was hoping to self-pimp my thread on the Aiwa PCDP.

I am keeping the Aiwa and will be putting my Sony 401 on sale soon. The Aiwa is indeed quite a nice PCDP, aside from the relatively weak headphone output (only when compared to previous generations of PCDP). To maximize the Aiwa's headphone output, I ordered a pair of Sennheiser PX200; they're going through a burn-in process right now.

BTW, the Aiwa EX-EV501R is no longer on Walmart's website. However, my local Walmart still has several available.

For a brand-new PCDP with decent headphone output, defeatable anti-shock, CD-R/RW playback capability, and a $45.00 price tag, the Aiwa is highly recommended!
