T-Amps -- how much progress?

I have what I think might have been the first consumer T-Amp (the first SI T-Amp). It still sounds good, but although it's been lightly used, the volume pot is playing up, and I've been looking into getting a new T-amp.

There are obviously lots more on the market now. I see many new names (Topping, Dayton, Muse, Trends, the list goes on). There are new chipsets, and the amps are in much nicer cases! But my question is really whether any of these new models stand out in quality terms, or are they all re-badged gear from the same factories? I've searched the forum and seen a few reviews of recent models, but little in the way of comparative reviews, or comparisons with the original SI amp (in terms of parts quality and output power). If I did upgrade I'd like reliable high-quality internal parts (including a better volume pot!) and yes, a better case. Ideally, I'd also like a second audio input, but that's not essential. Any advice appreciated.

I owned the original SI T-Amp and also the updated model (v2), but eventually managed to get a nice little T-amp called a Gizmo. It was a limited edition model, and I paid $89 for it. It has an input for a sub and is in a very sturdy case. It was from a Company called Tweak City Audio, and there was one sold here in 2009. There is a link in the FS post, and I followed it to a place called Chase Home Theater that says they sell them for $49, but no idea if it's valid.

Anyway, it was a perfect upgrade to the T-Amp, and it powers my two vintage KLH30 speakers perfectly in my home office.

Just a thought if you can track one down.

Here is the FS link. Good luck.
