I might like the LCD-2s according to your description. . .

That's not quite what my percentages mean.  My percentages just mean which genres I listen to with that headphone.  For instance, more of my total percentage of listening is dedicated to rock with the SE530 than the HD800, but I prefer the HD800 regardless.  I hope this makes sense?

What Senns out of the HD 600/650/800 do you prefer for rock then? I mean based on sound signature, not what's best overall.

Just curious.

Great review. very thx for sharing this. This is a very helpful guide.

Great guide. I will be linking this to everyone who asks for headphone advice :P

I agree with the majority of your points for the headphones I've tried and owned. Great job.

Great writeup!

It's nice to see a like-minded member around here. smily_headphones1.gif I haven't spent as much time as you with all of them, but I almost entirely agree with our overlap. Though I think I might have a bigger soft spot for the SA5000 than you do. It has mighty transparency and the 2A3 tubes lend something special to it.

And no DT48? For shame. biggrin.gif I think you'd be bowled over by its mids.

The Denon AH-D7000s, if i'm not mistaken, actually uses faux leather pads. A lot of modders are using J$'s lamb leather paddings these days.

For the headphones you own I would have a similar ranking of them, with the R10 definitely being the top of all dynamics.  I'm getting a little interested in the HE6 but reviews on it seem to be all over the place.

i'm not agree with some points , but anyway - good review ;)

When there's 20 headphones, it's very unlikely two people would agree on every point, assuming both had heard the same equipment, so this isn't a surprise.

Nicely done. I've been thinking of writing a similar review with all my toys (though I meddle mostly in the low to mid-fi realm).
