PA2v2 vs. Matrix M-Stage Amp: My Take

Sooooo, I finally got my Matrix M-Stage today.  Must say shipping was particularly fast, seeing as it was coming from China.

For those of you who don't think more expensive amps can make a difference, I will just start out by saying this.  Wow.  Yes, there is a difference.

Highs are more crystal clear, mids come through stronger, and bass has more impact.

Instrumental seperation is better, soundstage is better, let's just put it this way: everything is much better.

Soo, if you are like I was, and are in any way skeptical about spending more than $50 on an amp, here's the answer: Yes, it's worth it.

Now I know this isn't much of a review, but more of a testimonial from a skeptic about headphone amplifiers to a converted believer.

....and there ya' have it!....

I can literally feel bass now.  I can feel the drivers working against my ear, but with no distortion.  This is on my AD700s, btw.  I could not IMAGINE what the DT770 pros sound like on this amp.  I'm so super impressed, this amp is amazing.

I see you're a believer now smily_headphones1.gif

The M-Stage is a great amp, can't be beaten for the price.

Any impressions on any improvements with the MS1's?

That's just about the same impression I got when going from my mini3 to the M-Stage.  It's a fantastic amp for the $$.

Sure.

Soundstage does indeed open up a bit.

Detail is better as well.

Name some common song(s) to this forum and if I have them I can do an a/b and tell you the exact difference I hear.  I think that would be the best way for me to give impressions based on what I'm used to hearing, and what I'm hearing now.
