Dual amps for surrond setup

Hi, I ve had a set of cambridge soundworks pc speakers and there is something wrong with the amp or the connections because I dont get any sound out of center or subwoofer. I had an old yamaha amp collecting dust so I used that to connect the center and Subwoofer while the left/right and surround speakers are still connected to the original amp. I dont notice any delay and the quality of the bass has increased slightly (bit more deep and natural) when playing music...

My question is is there any problem with running two amps in the same surround setup? Am I better off fixing the other one? I cant hear something significantly wrong exept that when I raise the volume from the pc I have to make adjustments to the volumes of the two amps to get the same level from all speakers...

In fact, I do this very thing. I use my Canton fronts and sub for the main sound (use it for music too) with a Harman Kardon HK3490. My rear speakers are powered by an older analog Philips amp with some lower end klipsch speakers and my center is my TV :) The only problem you face is using more power than necessary.

Ty for your reply. Wow tv for center speaker that just sounds wrong :P. Anyway I think I will have to replace my setup cause I am starting to hear clipping noises and distortion from the rear speakers:(
