Wow.

I hope it does not take that long...

Hi there,

As just another happy user of the Miracles, I'd like to throw a question about custom cables.

I bought a Whiplash Twag Eclipse V2 cable to replace the default one hoping to improve the sound and what I got was a different signature rather than an improvement. The Whiplash sounds more focused but darker, like more claustrophobic and this is something that I did not expect and do not like.

Do any of you have experience with different custom cables in your Miracles? I would love to get a nice cable that is really transparent as oppose to dark.

By the way, I normally listen to the Miracles through an O2 amp.

Cheers,

   Victor.

I'm interested in this too.

Is the Eclipse a silver-plated copper, pure silver, or pure copper?

In my experience, silver-plated copper opens and brightens the sound.

My Miracles should arrive this week (holding breath) so I don't know yet if I'll even want to change the cable, but I'm interested to consider it after some great results changing my SE535 and HD650 cables to silver-plated copper options.

As you probably can see the shell is clear and with titanium faceplates.

For some reason they had added a glass cube with the brand name in it in the box. A paperweight?

Fit is very good. Finish is flawless.

The sound of the UM Miracle? Self-assured rightness.

It took me quite a bit of critical listening to a lot of tracks in a very big variety of genres to determine any "faults" or character of the Miracle at all. It has an extremely even frequency response, however slightly V-shaped. This means that it will play both rhythmical and classical music with equal appeal and enthusiasm. Not a single IEM or full size headphone that I have heard is up to that - not even my Audeze LCD-2 or HiFiMan HE-6.The Miracle has that extra bass that makes pop, rock, dance etc. foot-tapping and enjoyable. The extra uppermost mids and treble makes that airy sound which makes classical music sing. I am so impressed and delighted by this. No need for more than one CIEM or IEM, when you have the Miracle.

They are stunning! I keep looking.......mine are getting jealous hehehehehe.

And I am delighted to see that you put these in the same class, by comparison, as LCD-2 and HE-6. The other day I wore them for 6+ hours straight no soreness or discomfort at all.

Congrats!

To make things clear, I don't think the Miracle is as transparent and as high resolving as the LCD-2 and HE-6. It will usually be used with a portable source though, which means that the source isn't as highly resolving as my high end amp and DAC and thus it is a fine match for it's use.

why don't you just get yourself a DAP which makes it alot easier for transportation. I do see alot of people carrying their highend portable amp and DAC around though. Of course, i won't use my Miracle with such low quality source like smarphones or mp3 players of some sort.

I believe high end DAP can drive CIEM well and bring their true potential. DX100 can drive fullsize cans well but i doubt it would be that good compared to CIEM.

Lars, give the Miracle a bit of time to settle......Burn in is a must.....When you have Then feed it with a good source which is critical to such a high quality CIEM as the Miracle, then play it through an quality amp....You will be blown away mate.   They scale up so well.

Congratulations on a very nice looking set by the way.

Are those cables got burned-in? The recommended burn-in time is 300+ hours and you'll hear the improvement, more spacious, detailed and extended lows.

TWag v2 is a pure silver cable. It is a detail monster cable.

What do you mean burn in cable? There is no such thing. Burn in headphones is also a myth, especially on BAs, let along cables.

So after 300 hours the molecular structure of the pure silver is changed causing a more spacious soundstage?

Oh, but causing microscopic fractures by constantly twisting and bending the cable for storage never negatively impacts the soundstage or quality of the audio? How often do you clean the 3.5 mm connector on your cable or the female connector on your DAC/Amp to ensure the best possible connection? Furthermore, I assume your cables are fully shielded as to prevent outside radio frequency interference?

Thanks for the answers.

If it needed to be burned in, my TWag v2 would definitely be it as I got it second hand from a head-fier. Anyway, please do not start a war about this topic as you can probably find better suited threads for it.

Could it be that the cable is defective?

It's not exactly a thread about cables either, you know?

I'm not sure, because the TWag v2 should be brighter. Sometimes the soundstage is dependent on the recording.

I tried with different recordings that I know quite well so I think the recording is not the issue.

Here with me I only have the Audio technica ATH-A1000X and the ATH sounds a tone brighter but they are bright headphones anyway.

It is a shame that I sold my TF10s as I had similar feelings and I could use them to compare with the Miracles. I found the TF10s too dark to my taste, then I replace the cable with one from Chris_Himself and "suddenly" they became more transparent to me.
