off topic but.....

"hey guys an "idiot/noob" friend of mine got his hand on some $$ and he want to buy a gaming headphone, i told him buy SRH-940 cause they will satisfy you on both gaming/music!!

can you please write something so he get convinced that Skullcandy, Astro, Razer might be worth the same price, yet he is paying for "brand/name" rather than paying for quality

please tell him that the SRH-940 is better and can do the gaming sound way better.

why he does't listen to me? we all have this one/two friends who thing you are wrong because you are not a stranger :P "

thanks in advance ^^

Well, finally got the correct cable for these things so I can give them a try. Definitely amazing, and very smooth. I think the best way to describe the sound is balanced and full. At any rate, I needed a pair of IEMs for mixing in my studio, and these things will be the ticket, so I am very happy. :)

If he gets the SC, Astro, Razer etc.. get the Shure and let him compare the two.. then return it.

Also, if the 940 is anything like the 840.. I'd much rather wear an Astro. The thing hurts. I'd recommend something from Beyer instead.

Also DragonOwen, the Miracles aren't dark on mids or highs by any stretch..

My Miracles is dark on mids and highs (a few people listened my Miracles (it was hard, but it seems they were able to do it...) and they agree with me on this term... also on russian forum a few people that listened samples of Merlins and Miracles agree with me that Miracles darker on mids and highs), based on memory comparison it's on the level of Westone 4 in this term, my Merlins is so much brighter, that it's very hard to listen them after Miracles for about 5 (or even more) minutes until you able to adapt for they sound... maybe I have some fault Miracles or Merlins, maybe it's some troubles with fit, but I hear what I hear and actually I'm quite happy with what I'm hearing, I mostly listen Miracles now, I like they dark sound on the street more, because it's less fatiguing and it's more suited for me to listen in background mode listening ;)

FWIW, I was able to try a JH-13 Pro Demo and a Miracle Demo today and was more impressed by the Miracle...keep in mind that these were universal models, but the Miracle was just more coherent across the spectrum. The 13 (with Freq-phase) had more micro-detail, but the Miracle was noticeably more enjoyable to these ears.

i went for the miracle and bought Toxic Cable Silver Widow cable since it will make the micro details very very good which make the Miracle Tremble the JH13 pro.

I was really impressed with how silky-smooth everything sounded while still being very detailed. It might be the best-sounding iem I've ever heard.

Anyone here who has tried Miracle with balanced connection? - like TRRS to HM-901 (HM-801) or another balanced amp/plug?

If so, did you hear a difference compared to single ended? If so, what were they?

asked for -1 db in the bass and +1 db into the mids, bad idea? sent the mail to stephen and will see what does he think, i am not into the bass and i saw this:

" the midrange is very nearly on-par with the low end but has a laid back character that causes the bass to sound very slightly more forward " by ljokerl

thats why i asked for little tuning to get the bass slightly behind the mid range, not the other way around.

bad idea? :P

I really do not think you should take any bass away from the Miracles.

Generally silver cable tends to lower bass quantity and tightens the bass. Adds more treble sparkle and upper mids presence. Overall makes the sound staging bigger and more airy sounding.
