Unique Melody Miracle Review & Impressions Thread - Page 137

Don't they have a Portaphile thread around? :). The impressions I got from a friend is that it is a very smooth amp (too smooth for his tastes) with an expansive sound stage.

Edit: Here you go :)

I'm thinking of getting one with a Traucent uber interconnect, but it costs almost $1000 so I'm not so sure...

If I was to invest that much money in the Uber, it would be for the ciem cable, not for an interconnect. But that is just me.

lol I agree with Mimou on this one. I'd say get the actual cable for your IEMs? Are you saying combining the price of the uber interconnect as well as the Portaphile will be $1000.00? Or is that just the price for the interconnect.... confused_face(1).gif

Personally, I think that it would be too hard to take around.

I'd wonder how would you even use it as an interconnect without breaking the solid core of the wire? Since you are not suppose to bend the wiring? Normally on a portable rig the interconnects bend....

I think that it can bend a bit, but you can't bend it too many times so once you bend it, it has to stay in the same spot. Personally, I would never get a solid core IEM cable. It would just be too hard to use.

You can bend it I think, but not too sharp angles.

Well I guess if you can have it in a U shape without breaking it it could work? Anyways good luck on that purchase. Let us know how it works. smile.gif

You don't use amps anymore?

Just got my DHC Fusion cable. So far it's the most ergonomic and best sounding cable I have (I have/had Twag, Chris_Himself, Toxic).

Nope. I have decided stacks are not my thing. If a 1000$ DAP does not sound great alone then I find another one. Tera and ak120 work well alone. A stack is just a PITA.

That's the way I think also.

I have been waiting for the HM-901 to come out, and I have decided to go for it now. The alternative - to me - was iBasso/Hibino HDP-R10 (Japanese version of DX100), but I feel convinced now that the HM-901(with balanced amp and possibly later the IEM amp) is the way to go for me.

NICE!

What termination fits the UM CIEMs? At DHC they offer several options, but none of them is Unique Melody confused.gif
