From everything I've read, they are. Although I've never had the pleasure of trying the EX1000s, the Miracles are so far ahead of other high-end universals I've tried (eg SE535 SE and Re272) that I think it's a safe bet. The Miracles manage to combine all of the best elements of the various IEMs I've ever tried without any of the drawbacks.

 

No doubt others will have direct experience they can share...

 

(Edit: what I mean here is that they are much better than IEMs I have experienced, and those IEMs have been compared on par (or close) to the EX1000s in a number of reviews and discussions. I don't mean to pass on secondhand opinions as I know that's not really helpful to anyone...) wink.gif

The Miracles are indeed easily above IEMs I have tried, ie Shure SE530/535, as well as my remolded Shure SE535x6 (6 drivers). And I prefered their signature to that of demo EM6 I tried (too cold / analytical).

 

The only other I tried (albeit very briefly) that could potentially please me as much are the Fitear MH335DW. But with an a priori different signature.

I've read your review.....many times......and when I finish I go to the website, get ready to pull the trigger, then cluck cluck buk buk..LOL....Really looking for a cable for the Audeze's. Frank wrote me back very promptly BTW, a excellent first impression.

Hi Poetic,

 

Interesting that you are hearing more of the cymbals on the Merlin?......I had to get the Silver Poison Cable to get it up to scratch ....

.....Isn't it funny how we all hear different.....Could also be in ear shapes , perhaps slightly different tuning on the IEM, etc, I dont really know?

I have Fitear Togo! 334.

Some people said MH335DW sounds quite same as 334.

334 just a little stuffy to my ears, so i bought Miracles.

To me the major qualities of the miracles is that they are balanced and airy....sounds are distinctly floatting in space, I love it....so not stuffy smily_headphones1.gif

Hmm could be, my frequency graphs show what I'm talking about though (Miracle on the bottom has like 3db less at 13-14khz).  Either way, I'm sure it could be a myriad of things to describe the difference from build to our ear shapes.
