These are the colours i've gone for.

Clear shells and tips on both, but with black faceplate on one and white faceplate on the other, UM logo on both.

Whaddya think? i reckon the white one looks nice, but the black not so much, probably be better in the flesh.

It is nice...the Miracle is an elegant gentleman and should be dressed as such.

when i was taking the impressions my mouth was open (1 CM) and i only said my name to the doctor when he asked.

hope this wont cause a refit problem ><; any thoughts?

Shouldn't all impressions be done with a closed mouth? Unless you are a singer and want these for stage use, I see no point. Also, how long do we think these impressions keep their shape for? I've now been waiting 7.5 weeks for my miracles and worry that mine will have to go back as the impressions may have lost their shape.

I never spoke a word when having my impressions done, never sat still for so long before.

I did them biting two fingers and the fit is perfect. Talking just a little should not be a problem as for instance Fitear asks that you open and close your mouth several.times forbtheir Iems and their fit is supposedly great.

I just listened to my Px200, which i bought several years ago and has been hid.

It really shocked me because i didn't touch headphone for a long time, around two years probably. One reason is because i moved a lot from one place to another, from China to U.S.

It shocked me in two ways, the 3D but still wide soundstage and the fair clarity.

I know headphones and in-ear monitors are quite different in structures. Compared to other high-end headphones Px200 is not decent in headphone areas either. But i still expect Miracles might have as wide and deep soundstage as PX200.

NO not a closed mouth. Here are UM's instruction to the audiologist:

Unique Melody manufactures a full shell earpiece. A full shell impression is required, including the crus of helix, tragus and   anti- tragus.

• The impressions should be made of high-viscosity silicone impression material.

• We also prefer that the dams are made of cotton instead of foam.

• It’s critical that we have an open mouth impression taken to at least 3mm past the second bend of the ear canal.

To accomplish this:

a. Client’s mouth should be 1” open when the impression material is injected into the ear.

b. Have the client keep their mouth open until the impression material is fully cured

c. Unique Melody highly recommends that a 1” bite block is used prior to the injection to ensure minimal jaw movement.

Great, so not only have I been waiting for 7.5 weeks but my audiologist took my impressions incorrectly. I'm not going to backstab the company which took my impressions, but when you're spending £700 on custom headphones you expect this to be done correctly. Guess ill wait and see how they fit, then decide on refund options. I know customs have to go back and this isn't uncommon but the company should know what they're doing in the first place.

Nick, was this a UM recommended audiologist which you went to, to take your impressions?

7.5 weeks? did you order from the headphone company?

I've ordered from them, hope i don't have to wait that long, been 2 weeks already.

My impressions were done with a closed mouth, that's what it said on the paperwork that they supplied me to take to the audiologist.

I think open mouth impressions are done for singers, because the ear canal gets bigger when they open their mouths, need to stop the phones falling out, don't think it'll matter to the likes of me who sit there nice and quiet with a closed mouth when listening to music.

Wow......no wonder your pissed. What I copied and pasted is from UM's website, as far as I know this is the procedure they want followed. I have it handy because I handed the instructions to the audiologist who did my impressions this morning, getting the right side re-done.

UM corporate who I've been dealing with for 6 months as been as accommodating as any company I've dealt with. Handling my questions and standing behind the Miracles has been first rate.

You might want to talk to the company that is handling your purchase and explain what is going on.
