Is the "mini" connector mono?

I am about to buy an m2tech Hiface which has an SPDIF coax output, and was hoping someone could tell me which cable I need to connect to my HR microDAC's "mini" input. I am confused with this mini business, I have read that mini was a mono connector and I don't want mono sound!

I have established that I need 75ohm SPDIF coax with an RCA connector at one end and mini the other, but am confused about this mono business.

The DAC also has a mini output, does this mean I will get mono sound outputted?

Thanks for any advice, and sorry for being a noob.

S/pdif is encoded signal.  It can hold surround sound over that same cable.  You cannot think of it as a mono cable/signal because it is a digital signal.
