I would look it up but after this purchase I will probably just settle with my setup; I don't want my mind to be changed. I may consider other headphones but only in the same price category.

I dont think you are going to be settling Alex the Asgard looks like a great amp. I remember when I first saw it, I was like oh wow I need to get that. Congratulations on making a great choice. Am I going to have to wait till Christmas though to hear your impressions?

Probably. I would buy it myself as a gift to myself but I buy gifts for my parents. Good enough gifts that I could just get the amp for the same amount.

Now I am wondering if I should get the Beyer DT990's...I will wait for the amp first though.

I had the same issue with the HD650s when I got them. They sounded good with the LD MKIII but once I switched my Beresford TC7510 to the Havana DAC and also changed the Senn cables, everything became much more energetic and the bass became a lot more interesting. I haven't tried them out with the Concerto yet but I think the MKIII is a great value just given how well it has served me so far.

They lack bass. I find my Grado's had more bass (SR225i). I am assuming this is because they are not being driven well. So I need a strong DAC.

I would get an amp but I would rather get a powerful DAC like the Audinst and sell my uDac to cut my losses.

Is the Audinst MX-1 a good match?
