Xonar Essence STX vs Compass DAC/AMP?

I need more desk space so I want to sell my Audio-gd Compass external DAC/AMP and get an internal Xonar Essence STX soundcard. I want the sound quality to be at least the same. It would be driving AKG K702s only.

 

Would the Asus be as good or better than the Compass?

My guess is that the Compass is superior, at least on the amplifier part.

Can't speak specific to the compass but I went from a Cute Beyond and a Fubar II and I feel that the essence is at least equal to me, and it is SO much more convenient because I can have my speaker and headphones plugged in at the same time.
