Fubar I-O USB DAC/ADC Impressions

Thread Starter

Hi there,

First of all, are any of you familiar with this unit?  I am needing some sort of headphone DAC for my soon-to-arrive DT990/600s.  I'll be adding some sort of tube amp such as a Little Dot iii or similar.  The reason this unit appeals to me is because I also enjoy transferring my growing vinyl collection to my PC.

Currently,  I have a middle-of-the-road Onkyo receiver hooked up to the sound card on my computer.  I run my turntable into my receiver and then the receiver into the sound card for recording.  I also use this setup for listening to my old Sony v700 (ear-squisher) cans.  I run the soundcard out to the receiver in and then plug my headphones into the jack on the receiver.

Now, I guess my question is, would this Fubar DAC/ADC combo dealie be a good solution to, essentially, cut my sound card and receiver out of the equation (assuming I get an amp to go with it)?  Is there a better solution to my needs?

Thanks,
Jay

I have the same question. and could there be a distinquishable difference beetween this analog to digital input verses the 1/8 line input to soundcard.
