Best way to connect a subwoofer to a DAC

Thread Starter

I'm an audio newb. I've been lurking around these forums for a little while, but this is my first post. :)

Let me premise my question by first saying that I recently inherited some Audioengine A5 speakers and an SVS PB10 subwoofer.

Now, I already have a DAC that has 2 RCA outs. What would be the best way to connect my subwoofer to that? If I just split one of the channels and send that to the sub, would I be missing out on some of the low end being delivered to the second channel? I'd rather not split both channels and send 2 cables to my sub, because I'd rather not have so many cables going around the room.

Thanks in advance! :D

Firstly, the SVS subwoofer in which you'd acquired is supposed to be a .1 LFE for the hometheater solution rather in an stereo application. Even if you send either one of the RCA signal into the sub, that's only either of the channels but not both.  Therefore either you try to get another matching sub or else sell it off to get other subs which will accept stereo low level RCA inputs.
