I have an L3 and, compared with the standard Apple USB dock connector, it is slightly narrower than Apple's but also slightly thicker (by approx 1-2mm).
I just received my L1 in the mail yesterday and I can confirm it works just fine with the iPhone 4 bumper. The only thing that I'm not sure about is if the sleeve around the 3.5mm jack is supposed to move. Mine moves, but everything appears to be fine and sounds great.
