ihp-120 recording length?

Thread Starter
Got my ihp-120 about a month ago and love it.. But ive found a problem
and am wondering if it is epidemic or just my unit.

So i was doing some recordings, using line in off my receiver so i could listen to some sunday npr later in the week. I intended to record the whole day about 8 hrs in one file but the
ihp stoped recording several times around 133 min in? I was recording to 320kbs mp3s.

Also has anyone heard any rumor of new firmware similar to the rockbox for the ihp. Just think there would be more potential give the larger screen possibly import ms address books etc.

thanks

This will anwer your question. It comes from Zed Leppelin over at the mIsticRiver forums. He's the admin there...

Gentlemen, I believe the manual does answer you questions. Page 35:

Quote
"Recorded files are stored in folders matching the source name from where the audio was recorded.
-Line In/Optical In: Root\Record\Audio\AudioXXX.mp3(wav)
-INT/EXT Mic: Root\Record\Voice\VoiceXXX.mp3(wav)"
"Recording is automatically stopped if:
-The iHP's memory is full
-When the recorded mp3 file size is over 195mb
-When the recorded wav file size is over 795mb
-The recorded time is longer than 5 hours.
-The battery is low.
-When sampling rate is changed during optical recording"

So Profinger was correct in saying that when you stop a recording another file is created for that session in the appropriate folder as described above. It's also interesting to note that a FAT32 file system should support up to a 4 gig file size limitation, so I believe that the 795mb limit could be extended.
