The Celtic connection seems to be missing out.

Enya.

Maire Brennan.

Sinead O'connor.

How about a bit of Chinese,Dadawa can Wail with the best as can Emma Shapplin who is French,Voya Con Dios who hail from Belgium get the feet moving.

Era and Enigma are worth it for the female vocals alone, and if you like a bit of chanting there is none smoother than Deva Premal and Dona De lory.

But lets get back to the Best, the album "The Black Opal" takes female singing to another level,a level where Lisa Gerrard reigns supreme.

And for are Canadian friends good old Loreena is still flying the flag.

^What's wrong with her? I love her voice.

Also the four/past/w.e in Celtic Woman are nice to listen to, although they're ALWAYS so sibilant.

Nothing's wrong with her. In fact I love her voice and went with my girlfriend to her concert. I just think that most people here wouldn't agree.. though I could be wrong.

I love many of the ones already named. But to add a few great ones not yet named:

Neko Case
Julia Fordham
Cassandra Wilson
Ann Wilson (of Heart)
Aimee Mann

Julia Stone from "Angus and Julia Stone" is also incredible. Very dreamy/alternative. Their album "Down the Way" is amazing, highly recommend you check it out. Both female and male vocals depending on the song.

THE Neko Case album in my opinion is The Marble Index.

Few will agree with me I think. frown.gif

I'm just discouraged that so few people really appreciate Nelly Furtado (or at least, listen to her stuff).

Still waiting for my Mi Plan Remixes to arrive.

Pretty hard to beat "Fox Confessor". So I guess I don't agree, but we are talking about music here, so why would I? tongue.gif

And I prefer "Middle Cyclone" (also love the cover).

If any Neko fans haven't heard The Marble Index yet, I highly recommend it. Favorite or not, it's undeniably one of her most personal and intimate albums.

Just a girl and her drone box.... siiiigh.

I'm not a fan of her music, but her voice is amazing.
