Jazz is dead.  The youngins want fast and exciting music nowadays and the smooth groove of jazz just doesn't cut it anymore.

I can still find Jazz new, smooth and atonal.

Frazey Ford (The Be Good Tanyas), Natalie Merchant, Julia Stone, Frances Black, Dolores O'Riordan, Patricia Barber & Eddi Reader are my favourites.

I didn't know she had solo albums. I'll have to check those out. For me it's her performance of Scattered Leaves that gets me every time. In particular check out her mannerisms as she sings it in this YouTube clip -
