THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers) - Page 89

I'm not a huge fan of most of the music on Nashville, but this Civil Wars cover is fantastic.  Clare Bowen's voice is sweet and haunting all at once, and they've got the tight harmony nailed.

I'd purchase it right away, but evidently Big Machine gave apple an exclusive, and I refuse to install itunes on any of my machines.

edit: forgot to mention, if you enjoy the tune and would like to hear the original artist perform it, they have a fee live album you can download from: http://thecivilwars.com/music.php that includes this song.

I love Meiko more than I probably should.

the original mostly acoustic version of her first album is gorgeous, fell in love when I first heard it in early 2008.

Mary Black it is for me. Maybe because my dad always plays it via his own home theater system ever since I was young.

To be more with recent times, Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine has a wonderful voice. Her band has 2 albums currently. Wearing HD280pros

Cassandra Wilson or Sarah Vaughan (sorry I don't do Youtube! Find some good quality downloads!).

Laura Pausini - both in Spanish and Italian (Latin Pop) **Personal Favorite**

Tarja Turunnen *from Nightwish*- awesome (Hard Rock/Metal)

Emilie Claire Barlow - Jazz (I'm listening to her albums a lot lately)

Sabine Edelsbacher *from Edenbridge* - nice, not as good as Tarja (Hard Rock/Metal)

One of my top favorites for female vocals. All of her recordings sound so amazing and full.

Alisol Sudol is also one of my favorites. I couldn't find a good resolution version of this song, but her albums usually include lots of details and hidden things going on
