Big difference or hardly noticeable?

I have been thinking about adding a DAC to my system.  In order to do this I would have to get the Wadia 170i since I am using an I-pod as my source.  My question is will there be a noticeable improvement in sound if I were to add something like the Meier Stage Dac as opposed to the sound out of the I-pod?  I am currently using a Denon dock with rca's to my M-Stage.  I am willing to shell out the $$ for the Wadia and DAC if the sound will be stepped up a notch or two.

Thanks for any advice or opinions any of you could lend.

HD650 and M-Stage make a highly resolving combo. No doubts necessary about adding a Stage Dac in your system.

It will make a very big difference.
