Banned members?

Hello everyone not been about the forum for a while, I've returned to see loads of postings by banned people. Whats the main cause of them getting banned? I don't recall seeing this back in the day, I've been a member here for a long time.

Bans can't be discussed, though I speculate it has something do with that nude Abe Vigoda pics people kept posting in the portable source forum.

People get banned when they repeatedly break the rules after being warned.

 

Bans do not come out of nowhere.  Unless you're a spammer, but that's different.

 

We have an infraction/point system for various offenses, such as obscenity and trolling.  When you accumulate enough points, the system will automatically ban you for varying lengths of time.  So some of the people coming up as being banned might just be on a temporary vacation.

 

We don't discuss the terms of a ban with anyone other than the person who got banned.  They're private matters.  But, like I said, they don't happen without warnings and the Head-Fi Staff discusses the bans to form a consensus before they happen.
