Type in $500 + tube amp in the amp sale forum search.

WA3 looks like a very good candidate. I will try to check out the FS forums as well. I take it that the x-can won't be able to do the magic as a tube amp.

I will await my new opamps and see if they are capable of changing the sound enough, else I will probably end up getting a tube amp.

Thanks for all the help guys, you are awesome.

If the Hd 650's are dark why would it be better to have a tube amps (since they are dark as well)?

Mong0, I used a MF X-can 3 with the X-can external power supply with my HD650's for  a few yrs. and with the right tubes (Amperex 7308 SQ) I was happy... But so many guy's are sold on the Woo stuff.......just thought I'd give you my 2 cents... But My x-can 3 was used 200 + 250 for power supply and you don't want to know what the tubes cost Ok, $195 a pr.(a steel in today's market) so you could get a WOO WA3 I guess....They sound nice......
good luck....... I'm using The "BEAST" Tube Amp Now.......
