16-bit Aune USB DAC SE??

Thread Starter

I purchased an Aune USB DAC from a seller in New York off ebay and was amazed by the sound. This is my first headphone amp and It has been awesome for the past couple days. Then last night I pugged some Boston computer speakers into the headphone jack and played some music for maybe a minute. Now today, its all messed up, it sounds like the headphone plug isn't in all the way, but it is, Its got to go back.

But I then noticed the manual says "Portable 16-bit/48khz audio upgrade for laptops."

I bought this thinking it supported 24-bits. Do I have an older one or do all of these Aune dac's only do 16-bits??? The cover of the manual says  Ver.1.05.  the audio midi setup on my laptop has only 16 bit output for the aune, bummer.

This is the one and it has links to reviews of the aune that I assume have 24 bit audio support, maybe the ones reviewed are newer ones then the one being sold, right? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120635181232#shId

Is anyone familiar with this that could let me know if some Aunes do handle 24 bit audio?
