Kabeer has done more work than anyone else on teasing out the convoluted history of the Fostex T50 (the true grandparent of the current totl orthos from HiFiMan and Audeze, btw), and what he's found is: it's complicated. What you have certainly looks like a v2, that is, a post-1980 T50. But it has a cloth cord like the earlier Fostex headphones. I was thinking the cord covering material might be a way to production-date the T50, but maybe not. That's okay; it was just a guess. And the important thing is the lack of raised lettering on the cups, which conclusively [a dangerous word] differentiates your T50v2 from the earlier T50v0 (Japan domestic market, some OEMs) which looks very similar but has the raised lettering. Kabeer has owned both a v0 and a v2, so he knows.
