Hello everyone, I'm quite new to head-fier. I have a problem on choosing amp for my audio-technica ath-w1000x. I am interested in several amps.

1.Little do mkIII/ IVse

2.Schiit asgard/ valhalla

3.audio-gd C2C

4.Dark Voice 3322/336se

These are amps that i can find in the store near my house. Which one would suit my ath-w1000x best. Or would you recommend other amps, my budget is around +-$500. Thank you for the advice! and sorry for my poor english

The W1000x is so easy to amp that any of those amp will do. Personally, I like mine with a warm tube amp, gives the vocals some nice body.

May I ask where this store is/do they let you try the amps in store?

Wish I had a store near me with this kind of selection.

My audio technicas generally seem pretty easy to amp.  One of my issue was amps with high gain though, it limited the mount I could turn on the volume knob before it got too loud. Had me worried about volume inbalance. I also think there should be some options much less than 500, likely even less than 400 that would do the job pretty well.

The Asgard should pair well with the 1000X.  Its said to get along great with low impedance cans.

I'd also be interested in the answer to this as I am also still deciding on which amp to go for for the w1000x. At the moment I am leaning towards the Matrix M-Stage as its going to be my first headphone amp, but will likely change my mind again before I actually take the plunge and order something!

Try Woo Audio 6 if you can up your budget another $100. It is the best lower price tube amp I tried with W5000. Never tried W1000x, if the sound signature is almost the same, it is a good match.

The WA6 is an excellent choice for the W1000X.  The WA6 can handle the low-ish impedance of the W1000X better than most tube amps.
