I'm jealous! Such a good album(s).

The he-4 is rocking my world. The sound signature is just tremendous with the vintage amp.

Give me a little time. Just go them yesterday. Nothing worse than being a little giddy about something and then having to back peddle later once you've properly auditioned.

I've had my HE-4 for almost two years now. Lately, my listening sessions are "meh" half the time. The other half the HE-4s are still doin' it right. I think I'm just getting bored with them. Also, I sold my EF-5 and am now amping with my E9. I felt that the EF-5 wasn't worth the money for me since I didn't hear too much of a difference, surpisingly. But now I'm missing it. *Sigh*, such are the troubles of an audiophile. At this point I think I'll try out one of Beyer's offerings (T90?) as I believe the E9 should be sufficient enough for most headphones. However, I get the feeling that with the E9 my HE-4s have untapped potential in the bass region. It doesn't help that I like to listen at moderate volumes. I have to listen to the HE-4 at high volume to fully enjoy it, however, ear fatigue kicks in really fast.

The e9 just didn't do a lot for although there are other fiio products that I really like. I'd call the e9 way underpowered to get the real kick from the bass on the he4.

The bass was slamming when I had them amped with the Emotiva a-100

he-4 is a winner for me after listening to all family of hifiman (except for he6), actually I am using only ef-5 (for its tonality, speed, details, resolution, decay&attack), but I miss a bit slam from Lyr and bass

in the nearest future I am going to try a-100 from emotiva and beta22 maybe, that would be all, but ef-5 does really a great job (though I have to set volume almost all way up, 2W is a min what you have to pump to get some serious results, the best amp should have 5-8W I guess)

I was in love with the he400 for quite some time, but the he-4 wins out for me. I feel that it's a better hp across the spectrum plus it's lighter in weight which is appreciated for longer sessions. You do need a beast of an amp to drive it though.
