Hifiman HE-4 Impressions Thread - Page 161

Is there a summary anywhere that lists out all the pad options for the HE-4 or Hifiman headphones in general?  It almost seems like anything will fit them.

I will be getting the new hybrid pads in about a week. I dont expect them to sound better for my taste than the HM5 pads but probably better than both stock velour and pleather from Hifiman. Will let you guys know.

Image is too tiny for me to give you an advice but hot glue always does the trick for me.

Is the Hifiman balanced cable the cheapest option or is there something else I could get?  Not looking to spend a lot on this so the cheaper the better without going the DIY route.

EBay has a seller with canare balanced cable for $85 plus shipping.

actually there is a head fi member [if your ok with that] who enjoys building cables who will build you one pretty cheap, he quoted me like $65 for a 5 foot Canare cable balanced... I asked for Audeze Connectors, on headphone side, it might be cheaper for the hifman ones

let me get ur his name in pm

I wouldnt get the one from eBay, mines falling apart already and its super stiff

Unfortunately even HiFiman cables fall apart. I've had it done to two cables but fortunately hf replaced them without hassle.

There are more than one seller on eBay.... including the he500 cable with balanced ends. As for DIY, putting a Neutrik balanced plug is WAY easier than single ended.

Great to see the HE-4s getting some love with all the other HE phones, especially the new ones.

Do these phones come with two cables?  A 10 ft. 1/4" (SE) and also a 5ft. 4-pin xlr balanced termination?

Thanks!

There's a short potable balanced cable but it has a 3.5mm termination (not sure what you call a 3.5mm balanced).
