iMod Problem - Who could help me and repair it ?

Hello all,

I bought EFN's DIY iMod last year.

I've been enjoying it very much for a year. But unfortunately, the 'DIY Modded' (5N Teflon insulated solid core Silver wires used - 0.3mm dia) seems to be toasted.

I tried to contact EFN for help but he is unfortunatelly unreachable.

It would be great if someone could repair it for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Of course, i would pay for it.

Thanks a lot in advance.

iMod Specs:

- iPod Video 5G Slim Body

- 80GB 5mm Single Platter Samsung HDD

- NEW 650mAH Battery

- DIY Modded ala iMod (5N Teflon insulated solid core Silver wires used - 0.3mm dia) - Headphone Jack remained intact - Mod route to the bottom dock - Only runs on iTunes (Rockbox does not support the Samsung HDD sector size)

- The HDD have a rather slow write speed specially for Lossless ALAC. It took me 8 hours to sync all 44GB of my ALAC files. But the playback and response is perfectly fine.

my apologies for not getting back to you about this mate, i'm in the middle of moving house at the moment (will be offline for the next few days too), there are also issues with international shipping of items with lithium batteries, so you would have to be prepared to fit the battery yourself, or pay for rather expensive fedex shipping, which is the only airfreight service from OZ that will allow lithium batteries in devices on planes; due to the recent regulations set out by the airlines. they only allow it because they dont carry passengers.

if still keen shoot me another PM, but I wont be online to receive it likely till the weekend. hopefully somebody else can help you in the meantime

Hi all,

Some more news from my poor little iMod.

Symptoms :

Connection with the bottom dock to iTunes : OK

Display on iMod : OK

No more sound from the HO.

When I am using the bottom dock (connected to Minibox-e+ and ER4S), the sound is very very low and only from the left side even at maximum gain

And ...

I opened the iMod...the chip at 'DZP2' location seems totally toasted...

Is it serious Doctors ? redface.gif)

Thanks in advance,
