Low Profile LOD's

I have searched quite a bit here but cannot find an answer so I thought I would ask the question!

Is there a list somewhere of members who make LOD's?

I contacted one person who made me one but they do not seem to be around much anymore and I have not had a response from the email I sent.

I have an ipod classic and am about to get a stepdance. I have seen those really low profile LOD's that have the cable exiting from the left hand side and terminating in a right angle 3.5mm plug, the LOD end seems to be half the depth of normal ones which is great! Short cable length as well!

I have seen a few for sale from retailers but I really do not wanted to spend over $100 for a cable, as good as I am sure they are. The $30-$50 range is more in my comfort field for a cable!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions folks. Oh yes, Canada or the US would be preferable as I can avoid customs duties!

It is the first time I visit this sub forum , and saw this thread at the first time!

you can have a look at our LOD, it is cheap and good quality because it is made by Oyaide's PCOOC-A cable! and the price is not more than $20!

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I have something very similar and the problem is the cable in that configuration sticks out quite a way from the ipod. I am looking for something more along these lines

I got mine from Punnisher (I believe his pic)  but I don't know if he is still making them. They work wonderfully for the environment needed.

Stop advertising your own crap. That LOD is pretty standard and doesn't really fall into the low profile category anyway.

I think Warrior05 makes low profile LODs like that. Try pming him.

Thanks so much for your help folks. I will check out the leads. So far it seems not possible for the cable to exit from the left side of the LOD which is what I want as the stepdance has the volume on the right!

The biggest problem with making it come out of the left side in my experience is that it the connections between the wire and pins don't get as much support. The pins that you solder the signal wires to are on the left side of the dock. That's why I always build my low-profile LODs coming out of the right. I would just flip the amp around if you have to, so that the input is on the right and the volume control on the left. It might be upside down, but it still sounds the same.

The Fiio LOD is very good.  Because it's machine made, it appears to be very durable, and since it's made of a custom Oyaide-manufactured OCC copper (and only $10 on amazon) it's hard to beat, I like mine anyway.  If you have to have the whole sideways exit thing, then it's not exactly what you're looking for.  I can say from experience that low-profile LODs are quite painful to make, and certainly it would be tough to find one for that price that is handmade based on the difficulty factor.

Thank you for that advice. I think I will wait till the stepdance gets here and see if I can indeed fit a low profile right hand side LOD without interfering with the volume control!
