has anyone tried out this usb DAC  from creative? its only $100 and it has optical in which i really like.

im considering it for use with my xbox and computer optical outs to power my headphones

be careful, not all creative device with optical in supports 5.1 optical in, but the xbox has also 2.0 optical out, so you can still use it but for 5.1 you should research a little.

well if it is so, it looks great... you may try it, as it is a dac with amp and line out.

For that price you are not going to find better.

What would you choose between X-Fi HD and e-mu 0204? Exclusively for music listening trough headphones. So no extras needed, just DAC + headphone amp.
