be careful, not all creative device with optical in supports 5.1 optical in, but the xbox has also 2.0 optical out, so you can still use it but for 5.1 you should research a little.

oh i dont care about 5.1 support, i just want something to convert the digital signal to an analog signal that can be output to my headphones. thanks for your reply
well if it is so, it looks great... you may try it, as it is a dac with amp and line out.
For that price you are not going to find better.
What would you choose between X-Fi HD and e-mu 0204? Exclusively for music listening trough headphones. So no extras needed, just DAC + headphone amp.
